Governing Principles/Society

MISSION
To equip students to engage and impact their world for Jesus Christ

VISION: To become a school(s) that provides students with an excellent academic education built around the fundamental truths of the Bible. To partner with parents, churches and the entire Christian community to build programs that will result in CCS becoming acknowledged as the leading Christian educational institution in Northwest Houston. In all our endeavors, we will strive to bring honor to the Lord Jesus Christ by the manner in which our staff, students and families pursue our mission.

GOVERNANCE:
The Board of Directors has as its primary responsibilities spiritual leadership and stewardship of the operations of the school in a manner consistent with Biblical principles and the Constitution and By-Laws. In carrying out these duties, the Board must pursue excellence in all programs, establish effective policies and procedures, plan for future needs and provide for continuity of philosophy and purpose over time. As elected representatives of the CCS Society, they will provide an administration and staff to effectively manage the school's daily activities. In all ways, the Board must endeavor to maintain a positive testimony for CCS with its families and the community.

PERSONNEL:  We believe that our staff will play the single most critical role in achieving our mission. They will be committed Christians who exemplify the godly character we hope to build in students and display the dedication to academic excellence for which CCS stands. Our desire is to provide (1) compensation and benefit programs that enable the school to attract and retain qualified employees, (2) working conditions that enable employees to perform successfully in their jobs, (3) an administrative environment that facilitates the teaching process by establishing effective procedures, schedules and lines of communication, and (4) employee development programs that encourage personal and professional development.

FINANCIAL: The finances of CCS should be a testimony to our families and to our . Therefore, all monetary policies and decisions must be consistent with Biblical principles. Tuition and fees should be structured to maintain a sound financial base for quality programs. We desire to build and maintain a fiscal position that will allow us to provide assistance to families that are committed to Christian education and who truly need our help. Every family of CCS will be offered opportunities to sacrificially give as their time, gifts and resources allow. We also believe that through an effective development and student recruitment program the Lord will draw people and businesses in the to support our mission.

CURRICULUM: The primary purpose of CCS is to provide an excellent education that is firmly grounded upon the Word of God. All subjects will be fully integrated with the absolute truths of the Bible and taught in a way that will encourage development of Christian character. We believe the teacher is the key to the educational process and a living part of the curriculum through their personal example and testimony. The academic curriculum will be committed to strong foundational skills in Bible, math, reading, and writing in the elementary grades and college-preparatory math, reading, writing, science, computer skills and history in the secondary school. We will provide a variety of academic courses, quality instructional supplies and resources, and a disciplined environment that encourages spiritual and academic excellence and physical well-being.

EXTRACURRICULARS: In addition to imparting intellectual knowledge, CCS should provide opportunities for its students to develop and demonstrate physical, social, spiritual and emotional skills in a non-classroom setting. Extracurricular activities will reflect the same Biblical principles and standard of excellence as our academic programs. We will provide as broad a range of such activities as is prudent and practical.

DEVELOPMENT: We believe that development and communication are vital to achieving the Lord's plan for the CCS ministry in the Christian . All programs will be carefully planned to ensure maximum support for established goals. These programs include recruitment of students, promotion of CCS to the and fundraising. We will also keep the CCS family informed of implementation plans and ask for their input on a regular basis. We recognize that development and communication will be an ongoing process and any activity that is undertaken must be integrated with other activities and honoring to God.

FACILITIES: Our facilities are a reflection on the character of our school and contribute to the morale of our school family. We will strive to make our facilities' appearance, functionality and instructional aids enhance working conditions and ensure a sense of well being, thereby enabling staff and students to perform to their greatest potential. Our priority will be to make optimum use of present facilities prior to committing to capital expansion to accommodate anticipated growth. In all cases, we will strive for prudent, cost effective stewardship of the Lord's resources through sound maintenance and wise investment.
