Grades 2-5
In looking ahead to a new school year, we would like for our students to spend their summer months reading good books. There is much evidence that shows that when students read over the summer their reading skills improve, even though they are away from the school setting. For our next school year, we are assigning required reading assignments for each grade level.
Listed below is a required reading list for the summer of 2009 for students in grades 2-5. The required book will be discussed during the first nine weeks of class. Books are chosen that emphasize character traits, both good and bad. This will be a good springboard for students to begin their discussion about developing godly character.
