Board of Directors

About the Cypress Christian School Board

The CCS Board of Directors is a volunteer organization providing CCS with overall direction and ensuring the Head of School fulfills CCS’s mission.   To accomplish this, the Board meets quarterly with the Head of School, the board’s one employee, to monitor and set overall school policy.

CCS Board Philosophy

The school follows the Policy Governance Model established by Dr. John Carver.  Policy Governance dictates that it is the board's job is to decide the "ends" and the Head of School’s job is to work with employees to interpret and achieve more specific definitions of the board's ends.   This approach reduces the mountains of paperwork boards often feel obliged to review and allows us to focus on our servant leadership role.

Board Members:

The CCS Board of Directors consists of up to nine members, three of which can be Community Representatives appointed by the Board of Directors.   Six of the nine members are student family members elected by the school’s ownership, known as the CCS Society.

Each of the nine Board Members serve as a voting member to develop policies for the operation of CCS, raise funds and monitor finances of the organization, and monitor its’ programs and performance.
