Music
Music is a powerful tool created by God.
Man has always had the choice to use music to glorify God or himself.
6th Grade Music
Every Christian school student should mature in his understanding of music so that he may offer excellent praise to God and appreciate the musical gifts that God has bestowed upon individuals. Sixth grade CCS students will begin to understand basic music theory and have opportunity to sing different types of music. They will also listen with discernment to published works.
Middle and High School Choir
At CCS, each choir student will have the opportunity to sing about God's Truth and various earthly cultures through sacred and secular vocal music. They will receive instruction in and demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge of music theory and proper vocal technique through a variety of music styles and in a variety of performance settings.
Choir Performances/Competition
Each year, high school choir students perform in chapel, at athletic events, for special ceremonies at school and in the community. In the spring, both high school choirs, soloists and CCS ensemble groups participate in TAPPS Competitions (District, Regional and State). In addition, the Music Department hosts a Spring Concert, featuring all of the music from the TAPPS Competition.
